We, that is 8com GmbH & Co. KG, based in Neustadt an der Weinstraße - in the heart of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. 8com has been an established cyber security partner for companies and public authorities since 2004. In our Security Operations Center, we offer our customers numerous managed security services such as Vulnerability Management, Security Monitoring, Threat Hunting or Digital Forensics & Incident Response. 8com's portfolio also includes penetration tests and security awareness services (employee sensitization). Since 2021, we have been certified for the core area of SOC in accordance with BSI basic protection.

What you can expect

Your support in error management and troubleshooting (2nd level support) is crucial for a smooth IT environment.

Your direct cooperation with leading manufacturers and service providers enables us to develop innovative solutions and solve problems effectively.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to take part in on-call duties to ensure comprehensive security monitoring and respond quickly to emergencies.

You install, maintain and optimize servers, operating systems and server services for a stable and secure IT infrastructure.

By continuously monitoring system performance and promptly carrying out updates, you ensure maximum operational stability and security.

You are responsible for ensuring data security and compliance with data protection guidelines through comprehensive security measures and processes.

You maintain and continuously update the documentation of the IT environment to ensure transparency and traceability of processes.

What sets you apart

You have a degree or completed training as an IT specialist for system integration and have several years of experience as an IT system administrator.

You have experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.

You are also familiar with Microsoft Active Directory and group policies.

You are also familiar with the installation and configuration of web-based applications.

You have an independent, analytical and solution-oriented way of working.

Last but not least, you have the ability to work in a team, strong communication skills and a service mentality.

Experience with software management systems and the packaging and installation of software on workstations as well as scripting in PowerShell, database administration, storage and backups is desirable but not a must.
