No hype, no sales pitch \u2013 but a sober assessment from the people building the technology themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The Everlast AI podcast subsequently brought together three experts: Prof. Dr. Pero Mi\u0107i\u0107 (future strategist), Prof. Dr. Andreas Moring (AI &amp; digital economy), and Kim Isenberg (AI entrepreneur and newsletter author). It's happening now:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The US hiring rate in February 2026\u00a0<strong>3,1%<\/strong>\u00a0fallen \u2013 the slowest pace in 15 years.<\/li>\n<li>In the IT sector, there has been a shortage of people since the ChatGPT launch\u00a0<strong>330,000 jobs<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In March 2026, AI was first\u00a0<strong>the reason for dismissal number 1<\/strong>\u00a0in the USA \u2013 with over 15,000 cases in a single month.<\/li>\n<li>Oracle is massively expanding \u2013 and simultaneously announcing 30,000 job cuts to invest further in AI.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And that\u2019s just the beginning. The experts agree: we are currently seeing only a fraction of the impact that is set to unfold over the next 10 to 15 years.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"der-trick-mit-dem-handwerkerargument\">The trick with the \u201ccraftsman argument\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>\"When cognitive jobs disappear, everyone will become a plumber.\" This argument has been circulating for years \u2013 and sounds reassuring. Unfortunately, it's not entirely true.<\/p>\n<p>Two hooks that name the conversation very clearly:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Firstly:<\/strong>\u00a0Even in a small business, around 70% of the roles are white-collar jobs: administration, preparing quotes, and customer communication. All of these can be replaced by AI.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Secondly<\/strong>\u00a0If millions of office workers flock to the trades, wages there will collapse. It's simply supply and demand.<\/p>\n<p>And in 10 to 15 years, the dexterity of robots will reach that of humans \u2013 then skilled trades will also come under pressure.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"wer-gewinnt-wer-verliert-die-hantel\u00f6konomie\">Who wins, who loses: The dumbbell economy<\/h2>\n<p>The image that is making the rounds is that of a barbell (Barbell Economy):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Above<\/strong>\u00a0Highly qualified professionals who actively use AI earn 56% more than before.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Below<\/strong>\u00a0Physical activities that robots cannot yet replicate.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The middle<\/strong>\u00a0Is crushed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Middle management, classic knowledge work, coordinating roles \u2013 precisely what Germany's strong middle class is built on, is under massive pressure.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"was-das-f\u00fcr-deutschland-bedeutet\">What that means for Germany<\/h2>\n<p>Sam Altman has lamented that Washington is not prepared. Prof. Moring puts it succinctly: \"We don't even want to ask if Berlin is prepared for it.\"<\/p>\n<p>Germany has been in economic stagnation for years, has slept through digitalisation and struggles with bureaucracy that actively prevents AI experiments in companies. While US companies deploy new coding agents daily, in this country, critical information in many medium-sized businesses is still stored exclusively in employees' heads \u2013 and not digitised.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"die-gute-nachricht-es-gibt-ein-\u00fcberflussszenario\">The good news: there is a surplus scenario<\/h2>\n<p>But Mi\u0107i\u0107 describes three scenarios: horror, crisis, and abundance. The latter is the likely long-term outcome \u2013 if the productivity gains from AI are widely distributed. Work performance will become so cheap that products and services will deflate. Just as we live in abundance today compared to kings 300 years ago, we will live in abundance in 20\u201330 years compared to today.<\/p>\n<p>We will hardly avoid the crisis scenario \u2013 it is the transition. But the horror scenario is not inevitable. It depends on what businesses, society and politics do now.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"was-du-konkret-tun-kannst\">What you can do specifically<\/h2>\n<p>The three experts formulate clear recommendations for action \u2013 no reassurances.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Actively use AI, don't just observe it.<\/strong>\u00a0Anyone who isn't already working with AI tools daily is wasting time they don't have.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Not wanting to become a cyborg.<\/strong>\u00a0AI has already surpassed us in many areas. The race to beat the machine is the wrong strategy. The right one is to deploy what AI cannot do: empathy, judgment, experiential knowledge, genuine human relationships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Building productive capital.<\/strong>\u00a0Anyone who is solely dependent on wage labour is vulnerable in the long term. Ownership of productive capital \u2013 company shares, stocks \u2013 is what makes pensioners independent. This logic increasingly applies to everyone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Rethinking the company.<\/strong>\u00a0Not: How do I replace people with AI? But rather: If we were to start over today \u2013 how would we build it?
