Job description

As an IT Security Analyst (all genders) in the Security Operations Center (SOC), you are part of the operational cyber defence team and are responsible for the analysis, assessment and processing of security events in a state-of-the-art security environment. You work at the heart of our SOC organisation and ensure that threats are detected early, correctly classified and handled in a targeted manner. In doing so, you support our customers in ongoing security operations, particularly in incident handling, threat analysis and proactive threat hunting.

Your tasks include

💼 Your mission – or, in other words: Your tasks

  • You proactively and reactively research threats and classify vulnerabilities as part of threat intelligence.
  • You identify IT security vulnerabilities, document them in a structured way and derive concrete recommendations for action (e.g. patching, reconfiguration, etc.).
  • You perform active threat hunting in modern SIEM environments, particularly with Microsoft Sentinel.
  • You will support our customers in operational SOC operations from 2nd level onwards and process security incidents independently.
  • You identify, analyse and evaluate security incidents and initiate appropriate measures for containment and remediation.
  • You continuously develop SOC processes, use cases and tooling, and improve detection quality.
  • You assess the risks and impacts of cyber threat scenarios and assist with prioritisation in incident management.
  • You maintain and monitor core IT security systems such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR and vulnerability management solutions.
  • You ensure service quality within the SOC and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and response times.
  • You advise clients on how to handle security incidents and support them in operational incident response.

What you bring with you

🧠 What you bring – besides the desire to make a difference

  • You have completed a vocational training or degree in the IT field – alternatively, you are a career changer with a strong interest in cyber security topics.
  • You have between one and several years of professional experience in the IT security environment.
  • You bring experience in handling SIEM systems, in particular Microsoft Sentinel, and have a solid understanding of log analysis and security monitoring.
  • Ideally, you will already have gained experience in working with security tools such as EDR, SOAR, and vulnerability management solutions.
  • You have already had some exposure to offensive security (ethical hacking), IT forensics, defence security and/or incident response.
  • You possess sound all-round IT knowledge in the areas of networking, servers and clients, as well as with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO standards such as ISO 2700x, BSI IT-Grundschutz and the GDPR is an advantage.
  • You work analytically, independently and responsibly, and keep a cool head even in critical situations.
  • You have a very good command of German and good written and spoken English.
