We are modernising our core systems! As part of our initiative to future-proof our statutory health insurance (SHI) contract service, we are gradually migrating our tried-and-tested mainframe applications to a modern Java full-stack architecture. To this end, we are looking for a bridge-builder who understands both the mainframe world and is proficient in modern cloud and full-stack technologies to actively help shape our transformation journey.
Your area of responsibility
You design and support the migration of mission-critical contract systems from the mainframe environment (COBOL, DB2) to a modern, scalable Java full-stack architecture
You are building the bridge between the existing mainframe world and modern Java microservices, defining migration paths, transitional architectures and APIs
You advise and coach the agile development teams in the squad on architectural issues and promote the exchange of knowledge between host and Java developers
You establish modern software engineering standards (e.g. CI/CD, automated testing, clean code) for the new system components

You
You have successfully completed a degree in (Business) Information Technology or hold an equivalent qualification
has well-founded experience as a software or solution architect
has dual technological expertise in the: host world: in-depth knowledge of the mainframe environment (host, COBOL, DB2) in order to be able to analyse and understand existing business logic
Java world: In-depth practice in modern Java full-stack development (e.g. Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, modern frontend frameworks)
you perhaps already bring some initial experience in the field of health insurance (HI) or personal insurance to quickly understand technical processes
are a strong communicator, have assertiveness and the ability to convey complex technical matters understandably to various stakeholders
Official workplace / Place of work
