The Federal Intelligence Service, based in Berlin, is one of Germany's three federal intelligence services alongside the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Military Counterintelligence Service and is the only intelligence service in the Federal Republic of Germany responsible for civil and military reconnaissance abroad.
