The Planning and Realisation (PuR) business unit manages ZDF's IT landscape and creates the technological and infrastructural conditions for all the important processes of a modern media company. With a few exceptions, we design and realise all of ZDF's technical systems, from the television studios and on-premise and cloud infrastructures to enterprise and business applications.

Your tasks include

  • You develop scalable and modern cloud architectures that serve as the technological basis for innovative IT solutions in a modern media company
  • You will primarily work with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), but also use AWS or Azure depending on the project
  • You analyse existing IT infrastructures and develop sound migration strategies to transfer systems securely, efficiently and sustainably to the cloud
  • You advise internal teams and customers on cloud technologies, architecture principles and best practices - and support them in realising sustainable and high-performance solutions
  • You ensure that cloud solutions are scalable, secure and performant by applying modern architecture principles, security standards and monitoring concepts
  • You automate deployments and infrastructure processes using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible - for greater efficiency, security and transparency
  • You work closely with DevOps, security and development teams to design holistic cloud solutions that are both technologically and organisationally convincing

What you bring with you

  • Completed diploma or master's degree specialising in computer science, business informatics or another equivalent qualification corresponding to the job description
  • Several years of experience in the design and implementation of cloud architectures, including planning, implementation and optimisation of scalable solutions
  • Sound knowledge of one of the leading cloud platforms (GCP, AWS or Azure), ideally with a focus on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its central services and architectural principles
    In-depth understanding of modern IT landscapes, especially in the areas of authentication, operating systems and networks
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, especially in building and operating containerised applications
  • Confident handling of CI/CD, monitoring and cloud security to ensure automation, availability and data protection
  • Strong communication and consulting skills, both in a technical environment and in dialogue with specialist departments and internal customers
  • Very good German and good English skills
