Our tech stack includes modern technologies such as Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, and Python, CI/CD pipelines, containers, Kubernetes, as well as Azure Cloud, Azure SQL Database, and Oracle Database with PL/SQL. 

What you can expect from us

As a Network Security Engineer, you will be a vital part of our Core Infrastructure Services team, playing a key role in protecting our global network and security infrastructure. You will work within an experienced, interdisciplinary team of security and network specialists responsible for the stable and secure operation of business-critical platforms. 

You work closely with internal team members and external service providers, and take responsibility for the quality, security, and management of all changes within the network environment. 

This role offers you an environment with a high degree of personal responsibility, agility, and the opportunity to strategically apply and further develop your expertise. 

Your tasks include

  • Operation and responsibility for central network security platforms, including Fortinet and Cisco firewalls, proxies, and policy orchestration tools such as Tufin.
  • Ensuring stable, secure and compliant operation of security services through monitoring, fault analysis and continuous improvement 
  • Handling of incidents and service requests with a focus on timely resolution and sustainable root cause analysis. 
  • Management and coordination of external service providers in the context of firewall tickets, incidents and changes
  • Review and maintenance of firewall rule sets and security policies in accordance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.  

What you bring with you

  • Proven experience in the field of network security engineering and operation in enterprise environments
  • Sound practical experience with Fortinet and Cisco firewalls (mandatory)
  • Good knowledge of using Tufin for firewall policy management and automation
  • Experience with proxy technologies and secure web gateways
  • A structured, reliable, and independent way of working, combined with strong teamwork skills
  • Fluent German and English, spoken and written
