Mit der Verfügbarkeit von Quantencomputern werden die aktuellen asymmetrischen Krypto-Verfahren voraussichtlich hinfällig werden. Durch den Shor-Algorithmus lassen sich beispielsweise RSA-Systeme faktorisieren und brechen. Auch wenn es aktuell noch keine funktionierenden Quantencomputer gibt, die ein RSA4096 brechen können, ist es höchste Zeit, an der notwendigen Migration hin zu Post-Quanten-Kryptographie zu arbeiten.
Daher stellt Stefan Schumacher den aktuellen Stand des Quantencomputing und der laufenden Auswahlverfahren zur Post-Quanten-Kryptographie vor.
