FITKO (Federal IT Cooperation)

With FITKO (Federal IT Cooperation), the IT Planning Council has created an agile organisation to purposefully coordinate and drive forward the digitalisation of public administration. This is because the federal government and the federal states are in agreement: Germany's administration is to become a leader in the field of digitalisation. This goal requires cooperation at all federal levels and the development of new implementation strategies – in order to create IT solutions that deliver benefits and equally serve their users. Existing committee and decision-making structures in IT matters must be simplified and made more effective for this purpose. What is needed are flexible yet consistent collaborations that keep pace with the speed of digitalisation. As FITKO, we unite the competencies and resources necessary for this and thus help to implement the decisions of the IT Planning Council. We see ourselves as a learning organisation that views change processes as an opportunity for personal development. Through flat hierarchies, transparent communication, targeted staff development and collaborative process design, we aim to jointly achieve a high readiness for innovation in order to meet the demands placed upon us as an agile and flexibly operating organisation. Our collaboration is characterised by appreciation and trust towards all employees. We value personal responsibility, self-organisation and personal commitment. Traditional administration and innovative methods are not a contradiction for us. We are convinced that diversity opens up new perspectives and promotes creativity, innovation and success.
