Universität Potsdam

With around 21,000 students and seven faculties, the University of Potsdam, founded in 1991, is the largest university in Brandenburg. Its pillars are the Faculty of Philosophy, the Faculty of Human Sciences, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Law. IT specialists are trained in the Faculty of Digital Engineering, which is supported by the Hasso Plattner Institute. Together with the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg and the Brandenburg Medical School, a Faculty of Health Sciences is operated. The university specialises in earth and environmental sciences, evolutionary and systems biology, cognitive sciences and data sciences. The university is strong in teacher training and in knowledge and technology transfer. It cooperates internationally and is closely networked with research institutions in Potsdam and the region.
