Your tasks include

As a Database Administrator (f/m/d) at the Maintal site, you will become the architect of our database landscapes. Your tasks will be varied and challenging:

Database management: Planning, design and further development of database landscapes as well as installation and configuration of database systems (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, Informix).
Performance optimisation: Monitoring and optimising the performance, capacity and availability of databases in collaboration with server administration.
Service provider coordination: Coordinating and controlling external service providers and carrying out operational system work including scripting and automation.
Operational security: Ensuring trouble-free operation through proactive troubleshooting and the use of a trouble ticket system (second/third level support).
Development support: Advising and supporting the development department as well as managing access authorisations and ensuring data security.

What you bring with you

Educational background: Completed IT training or studies related to IT and relevant professional experience.
Technical expertise: Experience in the development, configuration and administration of Linux-based databases as well as knowledge of network technology.
Scripting skills: Knowledge of scripting languages such as SQL, Bash/Shell, Python, Perl or PHP and experience in using monitoring tools (e.g. Grafana, Prometheus).
Personal skills: Ability to work in a team, work independently and enthusiasm for IT.
Language skills: German: Business fluent; English: Good knowledge.
