Girls' Day

Public service

Once a year, companies, businesses and universities throughout Germany open their doors to schoolgirls from year 5 onwards on Girls' Day. The girls learn about apprenticeships and study programmes in IT, trades, natural sciences and technology, in which women are rarely represented. They also meet female role models in leading positions in business and politics. The aim is to broaden the range of career choices for girls and young women, particularly with regard to STEM professions and study programmes.
