About the usd HeroLab

The usd HeroLab brings together usd's technical security expertise. This is where our excellently trained security analysts, forensic experts and developers work, specialising in pentests, code reviews, digital forensics, security scans and bug bounty services. Many years of experience from projects with companies of various sizes and industries as well as the execution of tens of thousands of security scans and hundreds of annual pentests characterise us as established security experts in our field.

Your tasks include

You are part of our team of students who work together on projects across locations and support our pentesters and security consultants in their work. There is a wide variety of fields of activity in our HeroLab. The following list is therefore only a selection of tasks:

Shared responsibility for the (further) development of internal tools and services
Preparation and creation of Weak point descriptions
Support in the preparation of Training courses and live hacks for our customers
Creation of Challenges for the usd PentestLab, which are used for internal training, lectures and events

Depending on your personal development, you will take on more responsibility for subject areas and have the opportunity to participate in customer projects. In addition, you will be promoted to higher competence levels, to which further benefits and salaries are linked.

What you bring with you

In erster Linie hast Du richtig Lust, Dich mit Themen der IT Security zu beschäftigen und Dich bei uns im usd HeroLab einzubringen. Außerdem bringst Du Folgendes mit:

You are a student (all genders) of computer science, business informatics, mathematics or a related degree programme
Du besitzt ein grundlegendes technisches Verständnis rund um das Thema Betriebssysteme und IT-Netzwerke
Du konntest bereits praktische Erfahrungen, bspw. durch Capture the Flag (CTFs) oder Hacking Events, sammeln
You are reliable, show initiative and enjoy working in a team
You have a structured and analytical way of working and the ability to familiarise yourself with new topics
You have a very good command of German and English
