Your main responsibilities

  • Assure site safety and compliance
  • Assure adherence to relevant security standards
  • Enable the continued growth and development of the site (infrastructure and IT)
  • Manage and operate world class infrastructure
  • Reduce operational risk through pro-active management of infrastructure and analysis of faults and weak signals
  • Facilitate good/positive communications across departments
  • Exhibit leadership and instil the company vision whilst executing relevant/necessary corporate strategies
  • Manage day to day finances (opex/capex) for the data centre
  • Contribute to OVH group continual improvement and groupwide discussions and initiatives

The Data Centre Operations Manager takes the role of the unit lead for the data centre unit in which they work. The Data Centre Unit (DU) contains the following teams for which the Data Centre Operations Manager has ultimate day to day operational responsibility and for which they should have an awareness of work flows, processes and priorities.

  • Logistics – managing the flow of components and equipment to and from the site in a safe, secure, timely and efficient manner.
  • Team Leading – managing and developing the local team
    Site Security – managing the physical access and perimeter security of the site in accordance with various applicable security standards, such as PCI-DSS and ISO27001.
  • Infrastructure management and maintenance – maintaining the power distribution and cooling equipment on site to assure service levels and reliability for customers
  • IT – managing the continual deployment of new network and server capacity on site to satisfy current and future customer needs whilst maintaining the existing estate of live servers and network equipment in accordance with service level agreements. Lifecycle processes associated with all IT equipment.
  • Site management – managing the office areas, green spaces and general facilities on a day to day basis to ensure they are functional and fit for purpose. Managing local HR queries and issues. Managing payment and ordering processes, side induction, audits, contractors and visitors.

Your tasks include

Skills required

  • Knowledge of power distribution and delivery architecture and equipment including transformers, generators, UPS and batteries
  • Knowledge of best practice preventative maintenance regimes for critical infrastructure
  • Knowledge and experience of IT cooling systems architecture and operations in supporting live IT loads
  • Knowledge of ISO27001, ISO9001, ISO50001 and PCI-DSS standards.
  • Opex/capex, profit/loss reporting and general financial planning and reporting. CAPEX project justification and business cases.
  • People management, conflict management, performance management.
  • Ability to assess/analyse operational risks in a fast paced and dynamic working environment from the perspective of both service reliability and safety.
  • Ensuring group strategy and goals are well communicated to all persons.
  • Fluent German and professional English (at least B2)
