Pro Exzellenzia plus was launched in 2010 on the initiative of the equal opportunities officers of Hamburg's seven universities and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. A lot has happened since then. Well over 100 highly qualified women have been supported with a doctoral or post-doctoral scholarship from Pro Exzellenzia plus and tens of thousands of female Hamburg university graduates, role models and ambassadors have taken part in the diverse, free qualification programmes on leadership and careers. The large number of successful examples show that the project is starting with the right measures. The offer is never static, but is constantly being expanded and adapted to the needs of the labour market and the target groups.

Pro Exzellenzia plus ist ein einzigartiges Hamburger Projekt, dass im Verbund mit den staatlichen Hochschulen, außeruniversitären Forschungseinrichtungen und anderen Organisationen und Unternehmen Frauen* mit und ohne Migrationshintergrund auf ihren Karrierewegen begleitet und unterstützt. Dabei spielen der Zukunftsblick auf leitende und führende Positionen eine entscheidende Rolle. Das Projekt möchte durch seine Arbeit mit den vielen verschiedenen Zielgruppen Führungskulturen perspektivisch so verändern, dass Geschlechtervielfalt und Diversität zu unabdingbaren Erfolgsfaktoren werden.
