Digitalisation is a global transformation that affects everyone in its current and future impact. Cognitive AI gives every person the ability to digitise any repetitive process that they can explain to another person. Even without IT knowledge. Installed on a workstation, it is able to operate every programme, every website and every document like a human being, to work as a digital colleague to people while they make decisions and communicate with other people.

In this panel, book authors Lisa Ihde ("Per Anhalter durch die IT-Branche") and Cedric Mössner, Freya Wester-Ebbinghaus and David Kaselow ("IT für Anfänger") will talk about their experiences in the IT world - from their first steps to the challenges of everyday (professional) life. Their books focus on relevant topics in the IT industry such as lateral entry, AI hype, myths and prejudices, e.g. against women in IT. Freya has mastered the career change herself, Lisa has already received several awards for her many years of commitment as an equal opportunities officer, Cedric regularly provides his community with the latest tech content and David has been working as a freelance IT project manager and consultant for over 20 years. Look forward to exciting insights, honest discussions and perhaps a funny anecdote or two from everyday IT life!

AI brings many opportunities for innovation to many industries but banks in particular. However, it also comes with new risks which we need to tackle. Hence building models is crucial but also a well-functioning model validation is key to long-term success and trustworthy AI implementation. Meet two #WomeninTech to hear more about how we take up the challenge in #teamyellow at Commerzbank.

Every day at Fraport, we connect people and cultures from all over the world - also as an employer.

We provide a thematic insight into what motivates our speaker, particularly with regard to women in STEM professions:

Asserting yourself in a male-dominated environment, effective career strategies and the compatibility of career and work.

Our experienced mentor will share personal insights on the topics, give practical tips and provide answers from which the audience can benefit in their personal development.

Artificial intelligence is not just a tool - it is a revolution that needs diversity and new perspectives. "Alexa, who is shaping the future?" deals with precisely this question, which we should not only ask voice assistants! Women play a central role in AI, but are still underrepresented. This talk will shed light on bias in algorithms, inspiring female role models and the numerous entry opportunities in the IT industry - regardless of background. Because AI can only improve the future for everyone if everyone is involved in shaping it.

ASSUMED THAT you know little about BDD,
IF you come to this lecture,
THEN you will learn the basic principle!

ASSUMED THAT you know BDD as a pure test method so far,
IF you come to this lecture,
THEN you realise that there is much more to it!

We are all familiar with this problem: in software development projects, inadequate communication often leads to the product not being implemented in the way the client had imagined at the beginning. Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) focuses on bringing all stakeholders together from the outset and establishing a common understanding of the desired behaviour of the software at an early stage. This results in an executable specification which, in addition to the right product, also delivers automated tests and lively documentation.

Behaviour Driven Development is certainly not a new method, but it is often misunderstood. In many teams, BDD is only used for testing. In this talk, Katrin Rabow from Women in Tech e.V. uses a practical example to show that the focus of BDD is primarily on communication between all those involved in development. Together, you will walk the path from the initial description of the software to its implementation in the code and see why BDD is much more than just a testing method.

Have you ever wondered how a bank defends itself against constant cyber attacks?

Security analysts are available around the clock to recognise and defend against attacks - but they have active support: automation! Automation takes over time-consuming routine tasks and frees up analysts so that they can concentrate on the essential aspects of analysis and countermeasures.

Cyber attacks often start inconspicuously - a single scan, an inconspicuous interaction or a well-camouflaged entry point. But what happens next? In this TechTalk, we analyse how attackers use initial access techniques. We look at attack chains in the MITRE ATT&CK framework and discuss potential countermeasures for strategic defence to proactively identify and stop suspicious activity.

Digitalisation drives progress and opens up numerous opportunities, but also increases energy and CO2 consumption. One approach to reducing CO2 is the concept of carbon awareness, which takes into account the energy mix in the power grid. By using energy at times when the electricity is particularly low in CO2. Using the example of the smart home and the intelligent washing machine, you will learn about the background to carbon awareness and how "green washing" works fully automatically.

Microservices are considered the ideal architecture for scaling large systems - who doesn't appreciate the advantages of independent deployments, team autonomy and rapid function development? At STACKIT, Schwarz IT KG has introduced microservices for precisely these reasons. Teams can manage their services themselves and rely on clean API contracts for smooth collaboration. Microservices are fast, modular... but also not without hurdles. In this session, I'll take you behind the scenes of STACKIT and tell you how we overcame some of the trickiest challenges of distributed systems. From dual-write issues and time skew problems across service boundaries to elusive cascading failures that seem to come out of nowhere, we've seen it all. However, this talk is not just about the problems, but also about the hard-won insights and solutions we've developed to keep our system resilient.

Let's discover together the complexity of microservices in practice and discover strategies for making your own architecture more robust.
