Women in Tech 👩‍🔬

Diversity makes IT stronger

We are committed to real visibility on and off the stage. With the goal: 50:50 speakers and space for diverse perspectives.

At ITCS Hamburg, the focus was on women in tech: with strong sessions, lots of dialogue and over 33 % female visitors - well above the industry average!

Thanks to everyone who showed how diverse tech is today and will be tomorrow.

AI Area 🤖

Diversity makes IT stronger

At the ITCS Hamburg, an entire area was dedicated to the topic of Artificial intelligence - and with plenty of depth, as befits the Hanseatic city!

Whether machine learning, AI ethics or GenAI in corporate use - the speakers provided clear words and plenty to talk about. Between bits, bots and a view of the water, people not only listened, but also passionately discussed further.

A big thank you to our partner AI.Hamburg for the strong support.

And of course: thanks to everyone who helped us make the future a little smarter!

Masterclasses 👨‍💻

Hands-on instead of just listening

In the masterclasses at the ITCS Hamburg, people tried out, coded, discussed and thought together.

Whether AI as a career booster, hands-on consulting or family organisation with AI: it was all about taking part, not taking notes. In small groups, with real challenges and direct dialogue, you were able to try out new things, hone your skills and network with real professionals.

Thanks to everyone who was not only there, but right in the middle of it!

The Programme grows daily with 50+ talks about cutting-edge tech topics await you on the day of the fair!

The Programme - Cutting-edge tech topics await you!

What will the working world of tomorrow look like - and what role will quantum technologies, neuroscience and other deep tech innovations play in it? In this presentation, Dr Barbara Wellmann from Deloitte will provide insights into how they work at the interface of technology, science and business and the exciting career paths that arise from this.
Find out how you can use your expertise to help shape the future in an interdisciplinary environment - whether as a tech talent, strategist or creative thinker. Be inspired by real projects and find out how you can become part of this development.

Visibility is not an end in itself - it determines who is heard, who helps shape things and whose perspectives count. In the tech industry - one of the most forward-looking and at the same time most homogeneous fields - this visibility is often unevenly distributed. Women, queer people and marginalised groups achieve outstanding things on a daily basis, but are still too rarely considered in decision-making rooms, on panels or in product development.

This presentation looks at how networks can be used as a strategic tool to break down structural barriers, enable participation and make new role models visible. It is about the role of allies (allyship), the power of targeted communication and the development of sustainable structures in which diversity is not the exception but a prerequisite for innovation. An impulse for all those who not only want to belong, but also want to actively shape the rules of the game.

An impulse about courage, leadership and the real success factors behind every successful project.

As cyberattacks increasingly dominate headlines and mirror the tensions of the geopolitical landscape, cybersecurity today demands more than technical expertise - it requires a strategic understanding of the broader geopolitical landscape.

  • This presentation explores how geopolitical developments and international power shifts increasingly shape the cyber threat landscape and its underlying cyber actor ecosystem, underscoring the need to move beyond a purely technical lens in cybersecurity.
  • Using real-world examples, we will demonstrate how understanding policy environments and diplomatic frictions can often uncover the strategic intent behind cyberattacks.
  • The presentation would emphasise the need for interdisciplinary expertise within cybersecurity teams, where technical proficiency is complemented by geopolitical awareness and strategic thinking.

Imagine being in your early 20s and suddenly writing your first computer science book. For Lisa, this is not a vision of the future - it's reality. Today, not even 30 and four books later, she is not only on the biggest tech stages in Germany, but also on the "Forbes Under 30" list. Oh yes, and she works at Google on the side. Sounds like she's found the cheat code for life? In her talk, Lisa shows how she found her own way in IT from a working-class child. From her first encounters with programming, through challenges during her studies and her first successes at hackathons, to jobs in large tech companies and her commitment to more diversity in the tech world.

What does it take to lead as a woman in tech? No more toughness, loudness or conformity - but the courage to lead with your own strengths. In her presentation, Alexandra Hermes shows why individual strengths are the key to modern leadership - and how women in tech can exert influence and make an impact in an authentic way.

  • Why there is no such thing as a "tech leader personality" - and why that's good news.
  • How to recognise your individual strengths and turn them into effective leadership.
  • Why constructive communication and psychological safety are more effective than power play.

Alexandra Hermes wants to encourage women in tech to discover and live their own leadership style - regardless of role clichés or traditional career images. After all, those who build on their own strengths can act confidently and confidently - and be successful in the long term.

What was presented as a "vision of the future" a year ago is now reality: AI agents can be used to automate not just individual tasks, but processes. What previously took time and nerves can now be done at the touch of a button - and suddenly space is freed up for what really matters.

But it's not quite that simple. If you want to use AI in practice, you have to consider more than just the technology - ethics, process optimisation, data protection and the legal situation also play a key role.

Wiebke Apitzsch uses concrete practical examples and memorable stories to show how the use of AI agents can be successful - and where the real levers for impact lie.

One example: IT service management at HPA-IT. They show what impact Generative and Agentic AI can already have on process automation and service quality today.

Microsoft's Build 2025 keynote sealed the deal: AI agents are "first-class citizens" of corporate IT and work like real colleagues across departmental boundaries. In my presentation, I will show how companies are redistributing roles, orchestrating hybrid teams and transforming the strengths of both sides - human creativity & judgement vs. machine speed & precision - into measurable impact.

Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science that has been the subject of much public hype for many years. On the one hand, it is regarded as a key technology for future value creation, and an incredible amount of money is being invested in its development, while on the other hand, risks and dangers are attributed to it, including the destruction of humanity. In this presentation, I will try to realistically assess both the expectations and the fears.

How often have we broken new ground - sometimes in the wrong direction, often with valuable insights?

What began as purely internal training has evolved: Today, we organise genuine specialist training courses, especially in onboarding. In this way, we not only provide an efficient introduction for new colleagues, but also an inspiring one.

This helps us to bring knowledge to life - and that inspires. New employees immediately realise that this is about more than just processes. It's about understanding, about quality, about passing on knowledge.

And that is precisely what drives us:
Sharing knowledge, ensuring quality, arousing interest - together with you.

Cats are cute, make you content and happy. So it's not surprising that 15% of global internet traffic is cat memes, cat pictures and cat videos. But how does "cat content" reach consumers?

What is IP? Why do you need an IP address? What is DNS? What does the engine room of the global Internet look like?

Based on simple principles and mechanisms, the lecture shows what is needed to provide a global network for billions of people and keep it running.

Learn about fibre optics, switches, routers, firewalls, protocols and network admins and what holds it all together. Because only a happy admin is a good admin, and that requires coffee and cat pictures!

I especially appreciated how open startups were to meaningful conversations, and how patiently big tech companies engaged with students they could really see the spark in us! The crowd was diverse, from students to full-time professionals and job-seekers, which made networking even more valuable. The timely reminders and the company booklet made everything smooth and easy to follow.
Truly a well-organised, inspiring day. Looking forward to the next one!
