Despite massive investments and excitement around AI, the reality is stark: most AI projects fail to deliver meaningful business value. Our recent survey of 64 experienced AI practitioners from the DACH region confirms this challenge, revealing that 67% of AI projects fail, with generative AI projects showing even higher failure rates according to MIT research reaching 95%. This talk examines what drives these failures and what characterises the successful minority. AI is moving beyond single chatbots towards ecosystems of connected, autonomous agents. This talk introduces Agent-to-Agent (A2A) communication and the Model Context Protocol (MCP), two emerging standards that let agents coordinate tasks and safely access tools and data. Through real examples, we'll explore how these technologies enable more capable, secure, and interoperable AI systems.
In modern IT infrastructures, known security vulnerabilities and misconfigurations are often deliberately tolerated - whether for resource reasons or due to a misjudgement of the risk potential. This presentation analyses recurring vulnerabilities from production environments, including insecure default configurations, outdated software versions, lack of patch management processes and inadequate access controls.
Arctic Wolf Networks uses real attack vectors to show how threat actors systematically exploit these vulnerabilities - for example through privilege escalation, lateral movement or persistence mechanisms. It becomes clear that deliberately "accepting the risk" can not only result in compliance violations, but also in considerable financial and operational damage.
Infrastructure as Code not only changes systems, but entire teams. Instead of changing things "on the fly", we practise transparency, reviews and a blame-free culture. IaC stands for repeatability, ownership and shared learning - with all the "if I had known that back then" moments that allow Atruvia to grow as a team.

Ich habe an der ITCS in Frankfurt teilgenommen und war beeindruckt von der guten Organisation. Die Broschüre mit allen wichtigen Informationen erleichterte die Orientierung auf der Konferenz erheblich. Zudem konnte ich viele neue Kontakte knüpfen. Der Abschluss mit DJ und Getränken war ein echtes Highlight. Ich würde die Veranstaltung jederzeit wieder besuchen.
