In my talk, Hai Rüdiger shares her personal perspective on what it means to be a woman working in cybersecurity: Opportunities, challenges and the responsibility to be a role model. She shows why diversity is crucial, especially in security-critical areas such as cybersecurity, for innovation, better risk analyses and more trust in technology. At the same time, it provides insights into how Wavestone CSE puts women in tech into practice - through role models, mentoring, promotion and diversity as part of the corporate culture.
What can we learn from the modern health approach "Medicine 3.0" for our safety programmes? If we look at the basic principles of both sciences, we can derive the key insights to develop a better, more holistic and prevention-orientated safety strategy that is geared towards longevity and better health.
In order to defend yourself effectively, it is necessary to understand the attacker's side and to see through the complexity of modern systems. This is exactly what Capture the Flags (CTFs) are about: participants look through IT systems, find vulnerabilities and steal a flag as proof. In this presentation, Simon Bußmann gives an insight into how CTFs train and challenge these skills in a playful way.
LLM systems are not only "jailbroken" - they can be compromised indirectly via websites, PDFs, emails and RAG data. Cedric "Morpheus" Moessner shows the current attack patterns: prompt injections, prompt leaks, spec evasion and data/RAG poisoning. We separate jailbreaks vs. indirect injections, look at typical attack surfaces (retrievers, tools, plugins) and show compact countermeasures.
This is LLM-AppSec, so to speak, and a completely new area of IT security
Regulated organisations such as public authorities, hospitals and insurance companies face the challenge of using AI technologies without violating compliance regulations or losing control of critical data. Cloud-based AI solutions are often not an option for these organisations as they would have to entrust sensitive data to external providers. This presentation will introduce an innovative solution that brings AI directly into an organisation's own IT infrastructure while meeting the highest security and compliance standards.
